Virtual Youth Poetry & Open Mic

Join us on August 8th from 7PM – 9PM for a Virtual Youth Poetry & Open Mic hosted by the Elizabeth Youth Theater Ensemble and sponsored by OpenRoad Poetry.

The evening will be filled to the brim with Poetry, Spoken Word, Lyricists, and Acoustic performances.

Featuring Artists Rashad Wright, Jersey City Poet Laureate, and Talena Lachelle Queen, Paterson Poet Laureate. This virtual event will be recorded and live streamed.

We will be adhering to a strict 3-5 minute timeline to respect every performer.

Time permitting after Featured Artists: Round 2 or Q&A with Featured Artists

Performances begin promptly: 7PM.

The Elizabeth Youth Theater Ensemble’s mission is centered upon strengthening the voices of young artists. Utilizing theater-arts based curricula, EYTE provides creative learning opportunities for inner city youth where they gain confidence, communication skills and self-awareness. EYTE seeks to provide experiences that empower youth, developing theater as a powerful place for community building and social justice.

OpenRoad Poetry is a platform and community for poets and artists to network and share their work. Located in Jersey City, the project is co-produced by Crystal Letters LLC and Rescue Poetix TM.
